Quick answers
Short answers to the questions students ask most in their first week with Nooc.
iPad
My courses don't show up on the iPad.+
Check that you signed in with the same account you use on the web. The app's Settings shows which account is signed in. Courses are created on the web, so if you haven't made one yet, start there.
The app says Waiting for approval.+
Nooc is in early access, and your account is in the queue. Once it's approved, tap Check again. There's no need to sign in again.
I can't find the Nooc lasso.+
The Nooc lasso needs iPadOS 18 or later. On iPadOS 17, send the whole page with the paper-plane button at the top of the page.
I don't have an Apple Pencil.+
Open Settings in the app and turn on Allow finger drawing. Your finger then writes instead of scrolling.
What happens if I'm offline?+
You can keep writing. Anything you send while offline goes through automatically once you're back online.
Can I use only the iPad?+
Yes. Once your course exists, the iPad works on its own: answer questions, write, chat with Nooc, and read PDFs in split view. The web is there when you want a bigger screen or the code workspace.
Web
Run is greyed out in the Code tab.+
Run needs an open question, and Python needs a current version of Chrome or Edge. Java and C are coming soon: you can write and save code in them, but not run it yet.
Can I add files after I create a course?+
Yes. Add them in Assets, and keep Extract questions to the bank on when the file has questions in it.
